Netball Competition Rules

Each team in our competition comprises of 7 players on the court and up to 3 reserves. Players can be changed throughout the season at any time and as frequently as you wish.

There is no grading to the Netball Competition and while we appreciate some teams are exceptionally good, on average it's very social and fun. Most of the players in the competition have played Netball at some stage of their lives and we WOULD NOT recommend it to absolute beginners. A general thumb of rule is Tuesday is competitive and Wednesday is social. You have the option to register as a team or as a single player. We supply playing bibs, and you are not required to wear a uniform - most players opting to play in shorts or track-pants. All players will be required to wear appropriate footwear though. It is possible to play both Netball and Touch Rugby on the same night however there will be times when both games will clash

GAME DAYS & TIMES:
This year Summer Netball will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Games are played between 6.30pm - 9.00pm each night. Games are 30 minutes in duration (15 mins each way). Times are rotated weekly so every team should expect to have game start times ranging from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. All finals will be played on Sunday 8th August. The competition has one week break at the beginning of July during the PAMPLONA Festival. This will be clearly marked on the draw.

UMPIRING:
Each team will be required to supply an Umpire during the season and these duties will be clearly marked on your draw. It is entirely up to the individual whether you supply one or two people but they must be competent. We supply whistles and scorecards for umpiring. Should you not be able to or can't supply an umpire we can do this on your behalf but there will be a £5.00 charge per game provided you have given at least 1 weeks notice. If you miss your Umpiring duty it will classed as a default and you will lose your bond.

TEAM NUMBERS:
On game nights you may have a maximum squad of 12 players - however your squad can change during the season.
